Welcome to the South East Queensland Flyfishers Club
Formed about twenty years ago we are based on the Gold Coast and currently have approximately 60 members. We meet on the second Tuesday of each month at the Mermaid Beach Bowls Club, Markeri Street, Mermaid Beach. New members and visitors are always welcome and we also have an Associate Membership for those residing more than 100 km from the Gold Coast.
Meetings commence around 7.30pm and are devoted to learning and exchange of information in all things flyfishing including guest speakers, flytying, rigging, flyfishing film nights as well as arranging upcoming fishing trips. They also serve as a great place to catch up socially with other members and find out the latest news on who’s been catching what and where and present a great opportunity for those of you new to flyfishing to come along and mix with like minded people. Even if you have not fly fished before you are most welcome. Amongst our ranks we have some expert fly casters and flytyers who will be only too happy to help you. We also arrange regular Flytying get togethers, check out the "News & Calendar" section of our website for more info on what we have planned over the coming months.
If you're a flyfisher visiting us from another part of the country or overseas then we invite you to either email us (go to the “Contact Us” page) prior to your visit or come along on our club meeting night to say hello. We can point you in the right direction if you are wanting to fish or perhaps even arrange a fishing trip with one of our members.
Please enjoy our website and we look forward to meeting you at sometime in the future.
